So Much for Global Warming
Hotlanta is not earning its name this winter. Of course I knew things wouldn’t cooperate back on July 24 2007 when I signed up for Ironman Lake Placid. 2007 was unseasonably warm and dry all year. 2008 has been colder than normal and rainy. I don’t mind riding and running in the rain, or in the cold, but cold rain just stinks.
This weekend is shaping up to be cold and wet again. Saturday is going to be a 44/55 day with chances of rain, Sunday’s run will start right around freezing at 32 degrees. I wanted to ride up to Dahlonega this weekend to get some hill work in, but may have to settle for a tamer ride if it does rain.
I guess I need to look at the big scheme of things here and realize that whatever the weekend brings will be better than 5am this morning when I rode a stationary trainer for 2 hours. Between now and then I’ll just look back through some pictures of warm sunny days when we rode 100+ miles.
For those of you missing your bike and sunshine like me, I’ve included a picture I took of some friends on the last day of Summer 2007 when we rode to Alabama and back. I really need a warm and sunny ride SOON!!!
