Yesterday marked an equidistant point on the calendar where the same amount of time had elapsed since Ironman Lake Placid as the amount of training time left until Ironman Wisonsin. My body is feeling great, my diet seems to be on track, and it's getting to be time to ramp the engine back up for the toughest one day event.
This past week was characterized by reduced mileage and volume. Not much swimming, no rides, a little weight training, and a 15 mile run on Sunday. This is the second picture I took at the end of Sunday's 15 miler. I got my haircut on Saturday and if I don't smile I look angry. So I retook the photo and smiled (and of course blinked in this one). Today may quads are a little sore but beyond that all is good. 40 days to the ING Georgia Marathon.
This week will involve more pool time, more bike time, and more running. It will culminate in a 17.5 mile run on Sunday. Hopefully mother nature and work will not conspire against me.
